About Leah

Leah Curney is an award-winning screenwriter and filmmaker with over two decades in the entertainment industry. In 2024, her feature screenplay GREAT WITH KIDS was an official selection for The Women’s List and won the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards Gold Prize for Comedy – it has producers attached and is currently under a shopping agreement. In 2019, her pilot THE INVISIBLES was a semi-finalist for the Made In NY Writers Room Fellowship and her dramatic short script 6:18 TO OMAHA won the CinemaStreet Women’s Short Screenplay Competition. Her latest project, an episodic “sci-fi climate change comedy” series titled ANOMALOUS, is a quarterfinalist for The Writer’s Lab 2025 and is currently in development.

As a filmmaker, she has written and directed several narrative shorts, including IN PIECES and UNSOLICITED, and created branded content for multiple Fortune 500 companies. Also an actor and proud member of SAG-AFTRA with numerous credits in tv and film, it’s entirely possible you’ve seen her on a commercial for feminine hygiene products or during a late-night “Law & Order” marathon.

She lives adjacent to NYC (read: New Jersey suburbs) with her daughter and husband – actor / director / voice over artist Andy Schneeflock – and enjoys (among other things) history, botanic gardens, games of all kinds, breakfast, learning about things and fuzzy slippers.
